In 8th grade I was interested in two things: fully automated cars that could drive themselves to destinations and Legos. Lego mindstorms had a programmable block that controlled sensors and actuators. What I did was a created a city on a large piece of plywood and created a automated Lego car which could run along the city. I programmed the car so that using a remote, you could tell the car its destination based off of its current location. Once entered, the car would use the coordinates and its program to navigate via its sensors to its destination. This showed me at a young age the power of programming and the possibilities technology presents for the future.
